Programs
Wonder Years provides engaging programs for children who are 18 months through pre-kindergarten. School is in operation Monday-Friday 9AM-4PM with breaks for holidays and summer. All programs offer a variety of activities to help children grow including science, math readiness, language, literacy, art, music, dramatic play, physical development, chapel, Bible stories, and enrichment.
Moms Morning Out Program | Serving our youngest children beginning at 18 months, this 9AM-12PM program gives toddlers an introduction to a social setting rich with opportunities to develop physically, learn language, increase vocabulary, and acquire self-help skills.
Preschool Program | Our two-year-old to four-year-old program operates from 9AM-2PM. During this stage of development, we focus on building social skills and preparing children for pre-kindergarten. Children build on learning experiences that foster early readiness skills such as following directions, increasing attention span, completing tasks, and much more.
VPK Program | This program focuses on preparing students for kindergarten. Our VPK Program operates from 9AM-2PM. We accept funding from the State of Florida to assist with tuition (download the VPK Scholarship Application here). Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) is a Florida state-funded program that allows for up to 540 hours of instruction during the school year for children who are four years old by September 1 of the current academic year.
S.T.E.A.M. Enrichment | Following our program hours (9AM-2PM), we offer S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) Enrichment from 2-4PM.
Education: Our Philosophy
We believe each child is created by God as an individual who is valued and unique. We strive to help each child develop positive self-esteem through love, acceptance, and the opportunity to contribute to and belong to a group.
We are devoted to the development of the whole child by providing a Christian learning environment where children are safe and can develop spiritually, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically. We encourage every child to have a personal relationship with Jesus and nurture this through Chapel services, daily Bible lessons and prayer in the classroom.
We believe children learn best by doing and that they thrive in developmentally appropriate settings. Each classroom is arranged with a variety of learning centers to support an active and self-directed learning environment which encourages children’s exploration, learning and independence.
Our Staff
We have an excellent team of early childhood educators at Wonder Years Preschool! We expect that you will find our staff to be professional and approachable. Our staff members attend weekly spiritual development sessions and monthly professional development classes to stay current with best practices in early childhood research and education, and they pray daily for our students, families, and community.
Katie Bachman was born and raised in Bonita Springs, Florida. She is passionate about early childhood education and sharing the Word of God with families and children. Katie holds a National Child Development Associate (CDA) degree, a State Director’s License with a VPK endorsement, a VPK License, a VPK Literacy endorsement, and a DCF behavioral certification. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and husband of 25 years, as well as boating, “glamping,” and traveling. Katie has two adult children, Natalie and Tucker, and she’s blessed with two grandchildren, Elliott and Tripp. Her favorite Bible verse is Revelation 21:5: “’I am making everything new!’ Then he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’”
Our Parents
We believe parents play the most significant role in the spiritual and academic development of their children. We are committed to walking alongside parents on their journey through parenthood. We provide the support they need to raise children with Christian character and principles. We have an open-door policy, parent conferences, a Parent Advisory Committee, parenting classes, and events that foster family and community fellowship with the church.
